Citroën La 2 Deuche Concept. A handsome FRIEND who makes you want to
You hardly find the Citroën AMI sexy? What do you think of this 2 Deuche Concept? Unfortunately, this project does not come from the Chevron brand’s style bureau, so it does not have a chance to leave its virtual universe to enter real life. Shame.
It has to be said that nowadays it would be impossible to redesign a Citroën 2 CV, at least as a car. Indeed, the anti-collision standards, these anti-pollution, you will have understood, the “antis” that are not missing, would subvert together a fragile and light design that has made the success that we know. However, there is a solution to bring the 2CV back to life, to abandon the automobile and opt for a motorized four-wheeler, such as the electric Citroën AMI, and dress the whole thing with lines that are clearly reminiscent of the venerable Citroën 2CV recall. Retro design is a bestseller.
A 2CV without a driver’s license

This is exactly the path taken by the French designer Jean-Louis Bui. The latter does not work for the Double Chevron brand, but for the Protostyle company. The latter, based in the Paris region, is active in prototyping and making models and concept cars – such as the Alpine A110-50, which celebrates the brand’s 50th anniversary – for car manufacturers, mainly French brands. In terms of pure leisure creations, Jean-Louis Bui already has several projects to his credit, such as the DS Revival concept in 2020 or the SM Revival presented to celebrate the model’s 50th anniversary. He describes his 2 Deuche Concept as a modern interpretation of the legendary Citroën 2 CV, a city car powered by an electric motor in order to be accessible to the greatest possible number like its ancestor, to be classified in the category of vehicles without a license. With this in mind, the specifications establish the following technical limitations: less than 3 meters long, a maximum of 1.50 m wide and a capacity of two passengers, no more. Car sharing or self-service rental are envisaged as ideal uses. If they had been designed like this, the Paris Autolib’ would no doubt still be around… In any case, its designer has already envisioned the car as an ambassador for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
