Gasoline prices: Leclerc is doing a cost price operation on the crossover for the upcoming weekend
Michel-Édouard Leclerc, President of the Strategic Committee of the Leclerc Centers, declared this Monday morning the setting up of a cost price operation for the price of fuel next weekend.
Especially this summer, when the French go on vacation, the Leclerc centers want to make a gesture to motorists who are still suffering from the high fuel prices: “We will operate the large crossover at cost next weekend from Thursday evening”, announced Michel-Édouard Leclerc, President of the brand’s Strategic Committee, who was a guest of franceinfo this Monday morning.

The measure applies to all 636 stations of the Leclerc shopping center. The stations of the brand located on the motorways are therefore not affected. “It is not an easy operation because it must be carried out at a time when we can afford that our suppliers do not increase their prices,” explained Michel-Édouard Leclerc on franceinfo.

Following this announcement, the Chairman of the Strategy Committee also stated that it would undoubtedly be “the last time” that an operation of this type could be carried out at Leclerc, “due to a provision of the Climate Law (…) which plans to stop rebates on fossil fuels.” to be able to grant fuel”, and which is to come into force on 22 August.

Leclerc’s cost-price promotion complements other existing offers, such as that of the Casino Group, which is offering a liter of fuel for 85 cents in the form of a voucher refund until August 31st. For its part, the TotalEnergies Group has already promised a discount of 20 cents in addition to the start of the school year in September and up to November.
