Fuel: those brands that set up additional “discounts” at the pump
Along with the 18 cents per liter rebate from the government, some retailers are adding their own nudges to lower the bill at the pump.

• TotalEnergies: 12 cent discount on the Autobahn
Since July 1, TotalEnergies has been offering a discount of 12 cents on petrol (excluding superethanol E85) and diesel. This discount is valid until August 31 and applies only to the oil company’s petrol stations located on the motorways, ie at a hundred petrol stations in France.
This discount will then be increased to 20 cents at all TotalEnergies filling stations from September 1st to November 1st. From November 1st to December 31st it increases to 10 centimes.
• Leclerc: sale at cost price
From Thursday, Leclerc will resume fuel operations at cost. Up to and including Saturday 30 July, the brand will not make any margin on fuel sales.
An operation that could well be the last of its kind, this Monday Michel-Edouard Leclerc rued and condemned a provision of the climate law that bans advertising for fossil fuel promotions from August 22nd. The head of the Leclerc centers is therefore calling for the “at least temporary lifting” of this measure until inflation returns to a level more bearable for consumers.
• Casino: the liter by 0.85 cents
As every weekend, on Friday July 29th and Saturday July 30th Casino will renew its fuel operation at 85 cents per liter since the second half of 2021.
Specifically, the driver is reimbursed the difference between the price actually paid per liter and 0.85 euros. This refund will be in the form of a voucher to be used before Sunday noon.
But be careful, this voucher can be used for a minimum purchase of 100 euros in a casino supermarket and 120 euros in a Géant Casino. The operation is scheduled to take place every weekend until August 31.
