This is what the next Skoda Kamiq could look like

The small Czech SUV will be restyled in the coming months and a first illustration already gives us a glimpse of what it will look like.

When it comes to changing a car’s design over time, there are generally two choices among manufacturers: revolution or change in continuity. When redesigning its B-segment SUV Kamiq, Skoda is clearly leaning towards the second formula. Some spy photos of the prototypes have already appeared on the web and the light camouflage on the front and rear of the car alone proves it. The illustration that interests us today derives directly from it and the least we can say is that the differences are not obvious!

The bulk of the changes should be focused on the front. The grille will most likely be slightly revised, with new vertical bars and perhaps a slightly more angular bezel than before. The other element affected by the pencil mark is the bumper, especially in the lower part. Side air intakes (likely dummies on certain versions) should appear, thus reducing the size of the large black plastic stripe that runs the full width of the car. The rear bumper will certainly also be entitled to a few minor cosmetic changes, but the light signature, whether for the headlights or the lights, shouldn’t really change.

A more adventurous look?

In this drawing, anticipating the next Kamiq, we also note contrasting plastic wheelhouses unpainted as well as a fairly visible skid plate under the front bumper. It’s not out of the question that the production model will adopt this look a little more adventurously than before, perhaps with a special finish. As is often the case with mid-career redesigns – the Czech joined the range in 2019 – the passenger compartment is only entitled to small technological developments but nothing transcendent.

As for the range of engines The current petrol blocks 1.0 TSI 95 HP and 1.0 TSI Evo 110 HP will most likely be renewed. The novelty could come 1.5 TSI 150 hp, which logically should take up the latest technical development recently presented on the Volkswagen T-Roc. See you in 2023 to discover the redesigned Skoda Kamiq from every angle.
