As a dessert or in between, children like to eat ice cream in summer. However, be careful with the ones you keep in the fridge: RappelConso announces the recall of several Häagen-Dazs branded products. They were marketed throughout France in stores of different brands (Auchan, Carrefour, Casino, Cora, Intermarché, Franprix, Monoprix, Picard, Leclerc…).
What are the recalled ice creams?
Various Häagen-Dazs ice cream flavors are being recalled. There are three different multipacks to start with: Favorite Selection, Caramel Attraction, Chocolate Collection, and Duo Vanilla Crunch Collection. Regarding its ranges, all batches will be recalled if they have a best before date (MDD) between 03/08/2023 and 04/29/2023.
Next comes the ice creams Belgian Chocolate, Belgian Chocolate & Vanilla Crunch, Cookie & Cream, Macadamia Nut Brittle Praline & Creme, Vanilla Brownie & Raspberry Crunch, Vanilla Caramel Brownie and Vanilla Pecan in classic and mini jars. This time, anyone wearing an MDD between 03/16/2023 and 04/29/2023 will be recalled.
Finally, ice cream with chopsticks is remembered. This affects the flavors Vanilla Caramel Almond and Macadamia Nut Brittle for which an MDD was set between 03/16/2023 and 04/29/2023. Boxes of Mix Macadamia Nut Brittle/Salted Caramel and Vanilla Caramel Almond/Chocolate Choc Almond Ministicks with an MDD between 05/16/2023 and 06/29/2023 are also being recalled.
Why are these ice creams being recalled?
If these ice creams are being recalled, it is because the presence of 2-chloroethanol, a substance hazardous to health, has been detected in the vanilla flavoring included in the composition of all these products. The people who own them are called not to consume them.
