The Himo C26 is an electric hardtail mountain bike from Xiaomi and currently costs under €2,000. A good deal ?
Chinese giant Xiaomi, known for its laptops and range of electric scooters, also offers a full range of electric bikes, which it markets under the Himo brand. In the e-mountain bike segment, the Himo C26 is currently in the spotlight!
Equipped with an aluminum frame, LED headlights, Shimano 7-speed derailleur, Royal saddle, 26-inch tires, Tektro mechanical braking system and a crutch that allows easy fixation in a vertical position, the Himo C26 weighs 25 kilos the scale. Without a rear shock absorber, it falls into the “hardtail” category thanks to its suspension fork with 100 mm of travel.

Up to 100 km range
If it can venture outside of the city, the Himo C26 will probably not be the most suitable model for use in extreme conditions. Without a bottom bracket motor, which is considered the ultimate for off-road use, the e-mountain bike from Xiaomi is content with an electric motor that is installed in the hub of the rear wheel. In accordance with current legislation, this motor has a power of 250 watts. It supports the user up to 25 km/h.
The battery has an energy capacity of 480 Wh (48V – 10Ah) on average for the segment. Placed in the frame’s inclined tube, it offers a range of 60 to 100 km, depending on the support level selected. Charging takes about 5 hours. Satisfactory values for walks, to work or to go shopping… It could be a bit more accurate for long hikes with greater relief.
The Himo C26 also has an LCD screen. Positioned on the handlebars, it allows you to select one of the three available riding modes, check the battery charge level and display the bike’s speed and the distance traveled.
A very attractive price
Without claiming to compete with the high-end models in this segment, the Himo C26 remains one of the most affordable eMTBs on the market. With a fairly correct price-quality ratio, it is currently showing under €2,000 on several platforms. While the e-commerce giant Amazon offers it for 1,790 euros, the Fnac site performs slightly better with an access price of 1,699 euros.
