Affected users trying to access Google services were redirected to an error page stating that the company’s servers did not respond.
According to website DownDetectorwas this problem reported by at least 42,000 people having issues with Gmail, Google Maps, and Google Images.
For its part, the company responded to AFP after this glitch. A spokesman said came from a software update that took place earlier in the afternoon and the “temporarily affecting the availability of Google Search and Google Maps“. The web giant’s teams worked quickly to solve the problem and restore services.
